Odd

I find it amazing that I have so much to write about and so little time to actually pull it off. I'm used the exact opposite! I guess I'm going to have to take up microblogging. You know, that's where I write little tidbits. Oh yeah, that's kinda what I have been doing huh? Well sorta.

I couldn't have picked a worse time to move to GA. The economy is still bombing despite what the media is saying and there are still over 300,000 people actively looking for work. Prices are getting higher for everything and I'm finding the money I need to stay law abiding hard to come by. We renewed both vehicles registration in California to avoid the almost unreasonable valerum tax I'll have to pay when I register them here.

Money and time seem to be the only thing I'm really missing right now. I guess I've never been happy with my income level however not having time is a new misfortune I'll have to get used to appearantly.

Switched Jobs Yet Again

Always in search of something better ya know. A friend of mine runs this metal working plant an hour or so drive away from home. I asked him if he had some work for me and he hooked me up with a position working late at night in a warehouse. The hours are something to be desired but it makes money and pays the bills. I'm still on the lookout for something better, but for now I guess I can be a little more at ease financially.

Working Again

Found a job last week. Under much stress I have something that will at least pay the bills. I'm still searching however because I won't be happy with where I'm at for very long. Again I took a pay cut for the sake of a paycheck. Things are still very stressful but I'm hoping that in time, things will settle a little instead of the current trend of escalation.

Tyler is growing pretty nicely. He is something else. I've been enjoying the time I was able to spend with him while I was looking for work and now that I have a job, I regret that I didn't make the complete best out of the time I had. Tyler's great grandpa went under the knife recently and is doing ok from what I hear. Thats a big relief. I'm not sure how that extra sorrow would have played out for us with everything else that it going on.

It rains a lot more than I remember here. They say we are in a drought. This is monsoon season anywhere else I've been recently.

Candid Chaos

Its kinda wierd how things are turning out in my world. So much is off its normal course and things just aren't anything like one would expect. Here's a little list of the not so expected.

I can see what people are watching when they go to Comcast's ondemand. My digital tuner on my tv picks up on demand content on channel 88-2 through channel 92-12. I can even see them rewinding and fast fowarding content. Sometimes I even can see the adult content that's ordered by my neighbors.

I'm going to church every Sunday. I've been pretty anti-religious since I was little but I find having a relationship with god extremely appealing in light of my recent feelings of desperation.

Gas is over $4 a gallon. How the hell did our dollar get so freaggin' weak? I thought the economy was a beast out of control last I checked. Now america is turning rapidly into a third world country.

Everything is so exponentially exposed. The detail and amount of information available on any subject is incredible. Its almost infinite which couldn't be a good thing unless you're a grunt for destruction.

My grandmother in law is the greatest and sweetest person in the world. My own mother has chosen to be emotionally farther from me and her own grandson than total strangers. Completely not what I had expected to witness. Shame...

In the third largest city in the US I am having still a hard time finding work. The are always hopefulls but it is an extreme challenge to solidify anything. What happenned to just being able?

Wish List

Our money situation is starting to get kinda critical. Although we have enough to pay the rent next month our outlook on August is starting to look pretty dim. The purchase of the washer and dryer set us back beyond what we had previously thought. Returning them would cost us a %25 "restocking" fee and I sure hope it doesn't boil down to that. It would be an incredibly expensive mistake. Not having purchased them wouldn't have saved us for long anyways.

On top of the whole rent epidemic, we are seriously in need of a few items. We are keeping our eyes open on freecycle for some badly needed items in our new home. Things such as:

A Toddler bed for Tyler
A bed for us
Dining table
Sofa and chair
TV stand
Bar stools
Shower curtains
Bath rugs
Laundry supplies as well as cleaning suplies
mop and broom

Thank goodness we kept our vacuum cleaner. It was a tight fit but money well not spent.

Hopefully food doesn't become an issue. We have been searching for new ways to spend sparingly on food. Hate to actually cut back on food but the prices have hiked and that is one area in the budget that we can, with little effort, save a little money for more important things like electricity and baby items.
